June 9th
The fishing has been very spotty.  Many people have learned how important it is to hire a guide to help catch the fish of there dreams.  Right now some spots are morning and others are afternoon and yet others are evening the last hour before dark.  Walleyes are being found shallow and deep, bobbers and trolling how ever you want to fish for them.  Today we kept our 15 walleyes during the mid day bite and plan to go out after 9am tomorrow.  Northerns have been easer to get casting jigs or cranks to the shallows.  On the 7th we only fished northerns 20 minutes and had 7 all over 5 pounds up to 8 pounds.  We did go white bass fishing on June 8th and did very well, all were milking with only one female that had eggs in her.   Over all the temps have been very cold so we were happy with the three day total.  Water temp. 55-60 degrees.

MAY DAY  MAY DAY THE FISH ARE BITING WE NEED MORE PEOPLE COME HELP.

The bite is on, and has been for some people all spring.  Nice weather this weekend should help bring out the people hopefully the fish will cooperate with us.  The lake has risen a lot lately making it seem as if they are telling the truth about the lake level going to 1451 this year, breaking records water levels.  This will make things a lot different a round here this year.  The new concrete ramp north of Minnewaukan will be under water, 281 dumping off in the ditch is closed, making the south ramp in Minnewaukan the only way to launch big boats on this end of the lake.  Parking may be bad during the busy months. But the town will still be here and the fish cleaning table will still be busy.  Hope to see ya there.
There are still some very good days left on the calendar to go fishing so if you haven't booked the fishing trip of the year with us yet, you still have time.

March 27

We now have the best ice we have had all year.  So if you still have an itch to go walleye fishing come on out and enjoy what we have to offer.  As our walleye season is open year around.  30" plus of ice and a 10 day weather pattern it looks like we still have some time to plan one of the best fishing trips of the season, just bring sun lotion.  We have been doing very well on the walleyes and northerns.  I am giving out discounts on remaining days on the ice packaged with lodging.  Call for details 701-351-6058

March 10
The walleyes are still biting with some days over 30 walleyes.  Some nice ones in the 25" range and lots in the 14"-18".  With a wide range of temperature of -20s to 30 above does not seem to matter.  Perch fishing is on and off but some of the best I have ever seen.  Some over two pounds and most weighing in over a pound.  With the lack of snow lately we do have some nice roads out on the lake to travel on.  We still have some great days left as we enter our late season ice fishing.

I would never guessed that I would welcome over 1/2 inch of rain in February.  Now with that it made the snow compact to drivable conditions again.  We are getting out to areas that have not seen anyone since late December.  These past couple of days we have done very well on the walleye fishing.  Limits of 14"-20" ers with the perch fishing picking up to full speed of 10"-15" ers.  More and more guys been able to get around are showing some great reports.  If you have been waiting to come up this year because of the snow or the fish not biting, the wait is over.  We still have time open in February and March that's looking very good.  Not to mention the Northern bite is still very good to help fill up your take home bags.  These past years I have showed people how to fillet their northerns so they have no bones in them.  Many have come back to say that they have had fish fryes for friends and have liked the northerns over walleye.

I have not forgot about all of you.  We are still making good Ice.  We are up to 25"-29" in the Minnewaukan area.  The fishing is good but the getting around is tough.  Track vehicles are the best but not all of us have that kind of transportation.  18'-22' of water has been the best for me for walleyes using buck shot rattle spoons and minnow heads.  This past week has been very trying but we ended up keeping 15-30 walleyes a day and some small northerns.   Not bad for 20-30 below zero.  The next ten days looks to be warm and inviting for fisherman.  All temperature staying above zero.
We still have some opening this winter for making memories. Give us a call to set up something.

Ice fishing is almost here as some of the local fisherman are venturing out finding 5"-10"of ice on the west side of Devils Lake.  With this cold weather it will not be long.  I start my guide service on the 18 th of December I will get more up to date reports than.  I still have some openings for this winter.  I do have last years green Eskimo 350 quick flip for sale.  With cover and tow hitch $300.  Great idea for a Christmas gift for those ice fishing guys on your Christmas list.
October bite
We have still been picking up some nice quality fish in 6 - 10 feet of water with leaches and minnows.  Some of are past couple of duck hunters that stayed with me I took fishing for an afternoon break from hunting to get a bag full of walleyes.  Ten walleyes between 15-22" with some small ones we threw back for seed for next year.  Not to bad for four hours of fun.  We will still go out on nice days if any one is still wanting to go.
This time of year living where were do we start thinking of ice fishing.  We still have some good days open for that.  With all the smaller fish that we came encountered with I am hoping on a exciting year ice fishing.  With the new technology it is easier then ever before to stay warm and catch fish even though it is 20 below out side.  I have most everything we need to stay out of the wind with escomo shelters and Icecastle wheeled houses.  Vexilar fl-18 to show were the fish are in the water column and just how active they are.  If anyone is interested in finding out how fun it really can be please call for more info.

September fishing is going very good.  With many clients like these lucky ones coming back for another day on the water at Devils Lake.  We released two fish over 4 pounds and kept a beautiful stinger of 2 to 3 pounder walleyes and some northerns to fill in the gaps.
August 2
The fishing has stayed strong and is looking good for fall. Many reports over 50 fish a day. Leeches & Crawlers are doing well in about 10-20 feet of water.

April 21 2008
The ice is now gone from the Minnewaukan flats and surrounding lakes.  As the spring fishing is now underway we do have some openings for spring and summer lodging and fishing.  We did add one more house to our rentals.  Pics will be coming soon as we are still working on fixing up this house.  We are also working on our grocery store and bait shop, so we have it when you need it.

Well sorry for not keeping up with this for the last few weeks for I have been busy and catching LOTS of fish. My customers have also been catching them. Last week I had a few guys out and we thru back 15 plus walleye that were over 20". They also caught there limit of nice eaters walleye and northern. With one northern about 8-9 pounds. Some of the pictures are on the gallery also. Thanks guys for looking out for our resources also. And the past few days I had another client with his son that also caught there limit of walleyes and northerns who also released some great fish. Thanks. Haven't found the big perch yet but still hearing some reports of them being out there. I keep trying. We still have a few openings if your looking for a trip to remember. The weather is even suppose to cooperate. Let me know!!

Northerns are still doing well in shallow water.  Jigging or tip up's with smelt herring or just fathead minnows.  Walleyes are little hard to come up with but we are still getting a couple of nice 20"-24" a day.  Perch we are finding them a little harder to be predictable.  I have not tried this week for them.
I tried spearing for the first time.  That was alot of fun just watching the fish reacting to the decoy.  Northerns would come back time after time after the decoy sucker minnow.  While the walleyes that we seen would swim past once or twice moving on quickly showing just how inactive they can be.

Ice conditions are very good with 16-22 inches on most of the lake.  Lake travel is ok by truck, but you should never forget your shovel.  Fish are biting. Last night we ended up with a 12lb northern and multiple 5-7lb. for a total of 12 keepers and a dozen throw backs.  Three nice 23" walleyes.  The night before we had trouble with the perch so we went for northerns and ended up with 17 of them and one walleye.

The past three day we have been hitting it hard morning and night.  Three day totals were 21 walleyes that were kept with many throw backs.  We had 46 perch that were very nice averaging 11-13 inches.  31 northerns that we kept with some smaller ones that were let go.
With more guys out fishing the reports are getting better. Some Walleye & Perch with northern biting the best. Our grocery store now has a full bait shop.
